This is a 24-pack of Echo’s genuine Red Armor 2-cycle oil, each 6.4-ounce bottle pre-measured to mix with 2.5 gallons of gasoline at a 50:1 ratio. Designed for Echo-branded handheld equipment (trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, edgers) and any air-cooled 2-stroke engine requiring a 50:1 mix.
Fitment & Compatibility
- Use only in 2-cycle engines that specify 50:1 fuel/oil ratio (most Echo, Shindaiwa, and many other brands). Not for 4-stroke engines or older 2-stroke engines that require 40:1 or 32:1.
- Pre-mix volume: Each 6.4 oz bottle treats exactly 2.5 gallons of regular unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum). Do not adjust ratio.
- OEM vs aftermarket: Echo OEM oil. Compatible with any brand of 50:1 2-cycle equipment, but best performance in Echo engines due to additive package.
- No deck size or model number checks needed – this is fuel oil, not a mechanical part. Only verify your engine’s required fuel/oil ratio.
Key Things to Know
- Quality: Red Armor is a synthetic blend with fuel stabilizers and corrosion inhibitors. It burns cleaner and reduces carbon buildup compared to basic 2-cycle oils.
- Installation difficulty: Extremely easy – pour one full bottle into 2.5 gallons of gas, shake or swirl the can, and use immediately. No measuring.
- Common gotchas: Do not use ethanol-blended gas over E10. Old gas (over 30 days) degrades even with stabilizers – mix only what you’ll use in a month. The 24-pack is bulk – store bottles in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
- Shelf life: Unopened bottles last 3–5 years. Once mixed, use within 30 days.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you own multiple Echo 2-cycle tools or any 50:1 handheld equipment and want a proven, no-measurement oil that reduces engine deposits and extends spark plug life. It’s overkill for a single trimmer used twice a year – a 6-pack would suffice. For heavy users or fleet owners, the bulk pack saves per-bottle cost and ensures consistent mix every time.
