What It Is

Lucas Oil is a heavy-duty SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 (depending on variant) engine oil designed specifically for small engines in lawn mowers, tractors, zero-turn mowers, and other outdoor power equipment. It’s formulated for air-cooled engines that require high-temperature protection and reduced carbon buildup.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your engine manufacturer’s recommended oil viscosity. Most walk-behind mowers and riders use SAE 30 (above 40°F) or SAE 10W-30 (all-season). Check your owner’s manual for API service classification (typically SJ or higher) and capacity (usually 18–20 oz for push mowers, 48–64 oz for riders). Lucas Oil meets or exceeds OEM specs for Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Honda, Kawasaki, and Tecumseh engines. It is not designed for 2-stroke mix or diesel engines. No special measurements needed—just verify viscosity and quantity.
