This is a complete maintenance kit for John Deere 100 Series lawn tractors, containing an oil filter, spark plug, fuel filter, air filter, and engine oil—all in one box for a single-service refresh.
Fitment & Compatibility
- Fits models: JD E120, E130, E150, S120, S130, and all 100 Series (L100, LA100, D100, etc.) with a 17.5–22 hp Briggs & Stratton single-cylinder engine.
- What to check first: Look at your engine’s model number (stamped on the valve cover or blower housing). This kit works with Briggs & Stratton 31C707, 33R877, and similar single-cylinder engines. It does not fit Kohler or Kawasaki engines.
- Deck size doesn’t matter—compatibility is engine-based, not deck-based.
- Aftermarket kit, not OEM. Parts are sourced from multiple manufacturers, so quality can vary slightly from genuine JD parts.
Key Things to Know
- Oil included: 1 quart of SAE 30 (48 oz) is enough for most 100 Series engines—check your oil capacity (typically 1.5–1.75 quarts). You may need a second quart for a full fill.
- Installation difficulty: Easy. Basic hand tools (socket set, oil drain pan, spark plug wrench) and about 30 minutes. No special skills required.
- Common gotcha: The air filter may not match the exact shape of your OEM filter—test fit before reassembling the cover. Some users report it’s slightly narrower.
- Quality note: Spark plug is a standard J19LM (Champion equivalent). Fuel filter is generic. If you want OEM longevity, you may prefer separate OEM parts.
Should You Buy It
Buy this kit if you want a one-box solution for a single oil change and tune-up on a Briggs-powered 100 Series tractor and don’t mind aftermarket parts. It’s convenient and priced fairly. Skip it if you need OEM parts for warranty or prefer exact-match fit—buy individual OEM filters and a plug instead.
