What It Is

This Ariens pack includes two quarts of SAE 0W-30 extreme cold engine oil (part 00077900) and a fuel treatment, designed for winter storage and operation of Ariens snow blowers, lawn tractors, and zero-turn mowers in sub-zero temperatures.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Oil Viscosity: SAE 0W-30 is for extreme cold (down to -40°F). Not for summer mowing or engines requiring 10W-30 or 5W-30. Check your owner’s manual for recommended oil weight.
  • Engine Types: Works with most 4-cycle small engines (Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Honda, Kawasaki) used in Ariens equipment. Not for 2-stroke or diesel engines.
  • Volume: Two quarts (64 oz total). Most Ariens snow blowers take 20–24 oz; a lawn tractor takes 48–64 oz. Verify your engine’s oil capacity before buying.
  • Fuel Treatment: Use with any gasoline (up to 10% ethanol). Treats 10 gallons of fuel. Not for diesel or E85.
  • OEM vs Aftermarket: This is genuine Ariens oil. Aftermarket 0W-30 (e.g., Mobil 1, Amsoil) is compatible but may void warranty if specified.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation Difficulty: Easy. Drain old oil, replace filter if needed, fill to dipstick mark, add fuel treatment to gas tank. No special tools.
  • Cold Weather Performance: 0W-30 flows better than 5W-30 below 0°F, reducing starter strain and engine wear. Not needed for climates above 20°F.
  • Storage Life: Fuel treatment stabilizes gas for up to 12 months. Oil has no expiration date if sealed.
  • Gotcha: Do not mix 0W-30 with other viscosities. If your engine uses 5W-30 in summer, switch back before warm weather.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you own an Ariens snow blower or lawn tractor in a region with frequent sub-zero winters and want a convenient, warranty-safe maintenance kit. Skip it if you only mow in warm weather or need a different oil weight for your engine.
