The WSDCAM Anti-Theft Bike Alarm is a 113dB vibration-sensing alarm system designed to deter theft of bicycles, motorcycles, and similarly sized outdoor equipment (e.g., lawn tractors, ATVs, or power equipment stored in sheds). It includes a waterproof alarm unit, a remote fob, and a mounting bracket.
Fitment & Compatibility
- Not for riding mowers or zero-turns β The alarm is designed for smaller vehicles with exposed handlebars or frames. It will not fit under a mower deck or inside a closed engine bay.
- Mounting surface β Requires a flat, rigid metal or plastic surface (e.g., handlebar, frame tube, or mower steering column) at least 1.5 inches wide for the bracket.
- Battery check β The alarm runs on two CR2032 coin cells (included). The remote uses a 23A/12V battery (included). Replacements are standard and cheap.
- Waterproof rating β IP65 (splash-proof, not submersible). Do not mount where it will be pressure-washed or submerged.
- Compatibility β Works with any machine that has a clean, accessible mounting spot and no existing factory alarm wiring. No electrical connection neededβitβs fully self-contained.
Key Things to Know
- Volume β 113dB is loud enough to startle a thief and alert you from inside a house, but not deafening. Test it in your storage area before relying on it.
- Installation β Tool-free: zip-tie or screw the bracket to a tube, then slide the alarm into the bracket. Takes 5 minutes.
- False alarms β The vibration sensor is sensitive. A strong wind, a bird landing, or a bump from a pet can trigger it. Adjust the sensitivity with the remote (has three levels) to reduce nuisance.
- Range β Remote works up to ~150 feet line-of-sight. Walls or metal sheds cut that significantly. If you store your mower in a metal building, keep the remote close to the door.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you store a push mower, lawn tractor, ATV, or bicycle in an unsecured shed or driveway and want a cheap, no-wiring deterrent. Skip it if you need a permanently wired system for a high-value zero-turn or if your storage area is prone to strong vibrations (e.g., near a road or under a tree). For $22, itβs a solid first layer of security, but not a replacement for a disc lock or GPS tracker.
