What It Is

This is the OEM drive belt for the 32-inch cutting deck on Toro TimeCutter SS zero-turn mowers. It transfers power from the engine pulley to the deck spindles, spinning the blades.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check your mower’s model number – this belt fits TimeCutter SS models with a 32-inch deck, not the 42-inch or 50-inch versions. Look for a model tag under the seat or on the frame.

OEM part number is 117-3526 – if your original belt has this number stamped on it, this is a direct replacement. Aftermarket belts cut to the same length (approx. 99.5 inches, 1/2-inch width) may fit but often wear faster.

Deck engagement matters – this belt only works with electric PTO clutch systems (standard on SS models). If your mower uses a manual lever, you need a different belt.

Measure your old belt – lay it flat and measure the outer circumference. If it’s stretched beyond 100 inches, the new OEM belt will feel tight initially but will seat properly after a few minutes of use.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation is moderate difficulty – you must remove the deck (four pins, belt keeper, and spring tensioner). Expect 30–45 minutes for a first-timer.
  • Belt direction matters – the ribbed side rides on the pulleys; the smooth side faces up. Installing it backwards causes slipping and rapid wear.
  • Tensioner spring is a common gotcha – use a 1/2-inch breaker bar to rotate the tensioner arm. Don’t pull the belt over the pulley by hand or you’ll risk pinching fingers.
  • Check spindle pulleys – if your old belt was squealing or shredding, inspect the two deck spindle bearings for wobble or roughness. Bad spindles will kill a new belt quickly.

Should You Buy It

If you need a direct, trouble-free replacement for your Toro TimeCutter SS 32-inch deck and don’t want to gamble with aftermarket fitment issues, this OEM belt is the right choice. It’s priced fairly for factory quality and will last 2–3 seasons under normal residential use. Skip it if you have a different deck size or are comfortable measuring for a cheaper aftermarket alternative.
