What It Is

This is a 1/2" x 89" outside circumference (OC) aramid fiber V-belt, designed as the primary drive belt for select John Deere D100-series lawn tractors. It transfers engine power to the mower deck blades and transaxle (on models with a manual PTO).

Fitment & Compatibility

Check before buying:

  • Model fit: Confirmed for John Deere D110, D120, D125, D130, D140, D150, D160, D170 (2008–2016 models). Does not fit D100 base model (uses shorter belt) or D105/D155.
  • Deck size: Works with 42", 48", and 54" decks on those models. Verify your deck’s belt routing diagram (printed under the hood or in the manual).
  • Measurements: 1/2" width x 89" OC. If your OEM belt is GX20006 or UC30568, this is a direct replacement.
  • OEM vs aftermarket: This is an aftermarket aramid belt, not OEM. Aramid is stronger than standard rubber but slightly stiffer—no performance difference for residential use.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: Aramid construction provides good heat and wear resistance for residential mowing. Expect 2–3 seasons of typical use before replacement.
  • Installation difficulty: Moderate. Requires removing the mower deck, releasing the belt tensioner (spring-loaded), and routing around three pulleys. A belt routing diagram is essential—snap a photo first.
  • Common gotchas: This belt is not for the transmission drive (some D-series use a separate belt for the hydrostatic transaxle). Also, the 89" length is critical—never substitute a shorter or longer belt, as it will slip or damage the tensioner.
  • Noise: Some users report slight squeak during initial break-in (first 1–2 hours). This is normal for aramid belts and usually fades.

Should You Buy It

If you own a D110–D170 with a 42–54" deck and need a reliable, budget-friendly replacement for GX20006 or UC30568, this belt is a solid choice. It’s not for commercial use or odd-fit machines, but for residential mowing, the aramid construction offers good value at this price point. Just double-check your deck size and belt path before ordering.
