What It Is

The TOODOO 60-pack of 3-way IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) wire connectors lets you splice or tap into 22–14 AWG solid or stranded cables without stripping insulation. Designed for low-voltage applications like robotic lawn mower boundary wires, irrigation valve wiring, and landscape lighting.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Wire gauge: Works with 22–14 AWG (0.3–2.1 mm²) solid or stranded copper wire only—not for aluminum or steel wire.
  • Use case: Best for low-voltage (<24V) signal/power wires. Not rated for 120V household AC or high-current motor circuits.
  • Robot mower brands: Compatible with most robotic mowers using 18–20 AWG boundary wire (check your owner’s manual for wire gauge). Not guaranteed for Husqvarna’s 1.5 mm² wire—test a single connector first.
  • Irrigation: Works with common 18–22 AWG multi-strand irrigation control wire.
  • Measurement: Each connector is ~0.8 x 0.6 x 0.5 inches; fits through standard 3/4-inch conduit but not tight 1/2-inch runs.

Key Things to Know

  • No stripping required: Insert wire fully into the slot, press the orange tab down with pliers until it clicks. The internal blade cuts through insulation to make contact.
  • Reusability: Can be removed with a small flathead screwdriver, but the internal blade dulls after 1–2 uses—plan for single-use in permanent installations.
  • Weather resistance: Not waterproof. Use dielectric grease or heat shrink over the connector if buried or exposed to rain/sprinklers.
  • Common gotcha: Stranded wire may not seat fully—twist strands tightly before insertion. If the tab won’t lock, the wire gauge is too small (22 AWG is the minimum).

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you’re installing or repairing a robotic lawn mower boundary wire, irrigation system, or low-voltage landscape lighting and want fast, tool-free splicing without crimping or soldering. Skip it if you need waterproof connections or are working with wires larger than 14 AWG or 120V circuits.
