What It Is

This is a universal trimmer head that converts a standard string trimmer into a brush-cutting tool. It includes a steel head with six razor blades and a separate 36-tooth brush cutter blade made from 65Mn steel. Designed for heavy-duty clearing of thick weeds, brambles, and small brush, it fits many popular gas trimmers from Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, and others.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, check two things: your trimmer’s shaft diameter and drive system. This head comes with multiple adapter kits to fit most straight-shaft trimmers with a 25.4mm (1-inch) or 26mm shaft. It is NOT compatible with curved-shaft trimmers. Also verify your trimmer’s attachment system—the included adapters cover common splined and square-drive setups (e.g., Husqvarna, Stihl, Echo, Redmax, Shindaiwa). If your trimmer uses a reverse-thread or proprietary mount (some older models), this head may not work. No deck size applies—this is a handheld trimmer accessory.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation difficulty: Moderate. You’ll need to remove the existing trimmer head and possibly a retaining nut. Follow the included adapter instructions closely—wrong adapter choice can cause vibration or detachment.
  • Safety: The razor blades and brush cutter are extremely sharp. Always wear heavy gloves, eye protection, and long pants. The head can throw debris at high speed.
  • Noise & vibration: Expect significantly more noise and vibration than a string head. This is normal for steel blade heads.
  • Durability: 65Mn steel is tough and holds an edge well, but blades will dull faster on rocky or sandy soil. Replacement blades are sold separately.

Should You Buy It

This is a good budget option for occasional heavy brush clearing on a compatible straight-shaft trimmer. It’s not for daily commercial use—the plastic head and adapter tolerances may loosen over time. If you need a reliable, long-term brush cutter, consider a dedicated OEM head or a professional-grade unit. For homeowners with a few tough patches of briars or saplings, it’s a cost-effective solution.
