This is a flexible pipe layer attachment designed to mount onto any 3-point hitch ripper, trencher, or subsoiler. It lets you bury flexible irrigation tubing, drip line, or small conduit (up to 1.18" diameter) in a single pass while you’re already ripping or trenching. It’s built for light-duty use on ATVs, UTVs, or compact tractors with a standard Category 0 or 1 three-point hitch.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, measure your existing ripper or subsoiler’s hitch frame width and bolt hole spacing. The attachment uses two U-bolts (included) to clamp onto the ripper’s shank or frame—so the critical fit is that your ripper has a flat, straight section at least 1.5" wide for the U-bolts to grab. It will not fit most zero-turn mowers, walk-behind mowers, or lawn tractors without a 3-point hitch. Works best with aftermarket or OEM subsoilers that have a vertical or angled shank. If your ripper has a curved or tapered shank, the U-bolts may not secure tightly.
Key Things to Know
- Max pipe diameter is 1.18" – any larger tubing or conduit will not feed through the guide. Measure your pipe’s outer diameter before buying.
- Light duty only – this is for soft soil, sand, or loam. Rocky or compacted clay will bend the guide or cause it to pop off. Not for heavy-duty commercial use.
- Installation is simple but requires a wrench to tighten the U-bolts. No drilling or welding needed, but you may need to adjust the angle of the guide to match your ripper’s depth.
- Common gotcha: the U-bolts may loosen during use if not secured with lock washers or thread-locker. Check tightness after the first pass.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you already own a 3-point hitch ripper or subsoiler and need a cheap, easy way to lay drip line or small irrigation tubing in soft soil—especially for garden beds, landscaping, or small farm projects. Skip it if you need to bury larger pipe, work in rocky ground, or want a standalone pipe layer that doesn’t require an existing ripper.
