What It Is

This is a 5/8-inch wide, 143.5-inch long Kevlar-reinforced deck belt designed for 50-inch zero-turn mower decks. It drives the blades on Cub Cadet, MTD, Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna, and Exmark models.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, verify these three things:

  • Deck size: Must be a 50-inch deck. This belt will not fit 42- or 54-inch decks.
  • Belt length: Measure your old belt end-to-end (not around pulleys). It must be exactly 143.5 inches. A belt 1/2 inch longer or shorter can slip or bind.
  • OEM cross-reference: This replaces OEM numbers 754-05078, 954-05078 (Cub Cadet/MTD/Troy-Bilt), 574845603 (Husqvarna), and 1-413308/413308 (Exmark). If your mower uses a different OEM number, it likely won’t fit.
  • Width: Must be 5/8 inch. Some 50-inch decks use a 1/2-inch belt—check before buying.

Key Things to Know

  • Kevlar construction: Offers better heat resistance and longer life than standard rubber belts, but costs more. Worth it for frequent mowing or thick grass.
  • Installation difficulty: Moderate. You’ll need to release the deck tensioner and route the belt around three spindle pulleys and one or two idlers. A diagram (often printed on the deck) helps.
  • Common gotchas: Aftermarket belts can run slightly shorter or longer than OEM spec. This belt is made to OEM specs, but measure your old belt to confirm. Also, check your tensioner spring and pulley bearings—worn parts will kill any new belt quickly.
  • Noise: Some users report a slight squeak during break-in. This usually fades after 10–15 minutes of use.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you need a direct-fit replacement for a Cub Cadet, MTD, Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna, or Exmark 50-inch zero-turn deck and want a step up in durability over a standard rubber belt. Avoid if your mower takes a different length or width, or if you’re on a tight budget—standard belts cost about half as much but won’t last as long.
