What It Is

This John Deere OEM Easy Change Conversion Kit replaces the standard two-bolt blade retention system with a single-bolt, tool-free design, allowing you to swap mower blades in under a minute without wrenches. It’s for residential John Deere lawn tractors and zero-turn mowers with 42-inch, 48-inch, and 54-inch Edge™ or standard stamped decks.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your mower deck model. This kit fits John Deere models like the D100, D110, D130, E100, E110, E130, X300, X304, X310, X320, X330, X350, X360, X370, X380, X390, Z525E, Z530M, Z535M, Z540M, Z545R, Z560R, Z565R, Z570R, Z575R, Z580R, Z585R, Z590R, Z595R, Z600R, Z605R, Z610R, Z615R, Z620R, Z625R, Z630R, Z635R, Z640R, Z645R, Z650R, Z655R, Z660R, and Z665R (check your model’s deck size: 42", 48", or 54"). The kit includes three blade adapters (AM131611), three knobs (MIU13767), three retainers (AM125424), and three washers (TY22029). It will not work on older decks with a center hole larger than 5/8-inch or on decks that already have a single-bolt system. Measure your existing blade bolt diameter—this kit requires a 5/8-inch center hole. If your deck uses a different bolt pattern (e.g., 3/4-inch or hex), it’s not compatible.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: OEM John Deere parts ensure a precise fit and corrosion-resistant hardware. Aftermarket knockoffs may use softer steel that strips or loosens over time.
  • Installation Difficulty: Easy—takes about 15 minutes. Remove the old blade bolts, install the adapters onto the blade spindles, then attach the retainers and hand-tighten the knobs. No tools needed for future blade changes.
  • Common Gotchas: The knobs must be hand-tightened firmly; over-torquing with a tool can crack the plastic. If your blades are severely worn or damaged, replace them before installing the kit. The kit does not include blades.
  • Maintenance: Check knob tightness after the first hour of use and periodically thereafter—vibration can loosen them.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you mow frequently and want to swap blades in seconds without wrenches, or if you have multiple John Deere models with compatible decks and want one kit to serve them all. Skip it if you rarely change blades or if your deck has a non-standard spindle hole—stick with the stock two-bolt system.
