What It Is

The JEENDA Blade Clutch PTO Switch is an electrical safety and engagement switch that controls the electric clutch on the mower deck, allowing you to engage or disengage the blades. It’s designed as a direct replacement for several John Deere lawn tractors, primarily older 100-series models with electric PTO clutches.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your mower uses an electric PTO clutch (not a manual lever). This switch replaces OEM numbers AM131966, B1EM48, TCA17834, TCA21027, TCA22710, and 103-5221. Compatible models include John Deere L120, L130, D140, D150, D155, D160, D170, and LA130–LA175 series (LA130, LA140, LA145, LA150, LA155, LA165, LA175). It will not work on models with a manual blade engagement lever—check your existing switch shape and connector type. Deck size (42”, 48”, 54”) does not affect fitment, as the switch is on the dash panel, not the deck.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality vs OEM: This is an aftermarket part. It’s a solid budget alternative, but some users report slightly looser fit in the dash hole or a less crisp feel when toggling. It works, but not identical to OEM.
  • Installation difficulty: Easy—about 10 minutes. Remove the dash panel, unplug the old switch, plug in the new one, and snap it back in. No tools required beyond a screwdriver for panel screws.
  • Common gotchas: If your blades won’t engage or stay engaged, the switch might be bad, but also check the PTO clutch coil and wiring harness for damage. This switch is a common failure point on older John Deeres.
  • Connector type: It uses a standard 2-pin flat blade connector. Verify your harness matches before ordering—some early models may have a different plug.

Should You Buy It

If you need a cheap, functional replacement for a failed PTO switch on a compatible John Deere 100-series lawn tractor, this is a good buy. It’s not as robust as the OEM part, but at roughly half the price, it’s a practical fix for occasional-use mowers. Skip it if you want exact OEM feel or have a high-use commercial machine.
