What It Is

The IRONMAX Lawn Roller is a 24-inch wide, 13-gallon tow-behind or push roller designed for flattening soil, smoothing lawns, and pressing sod on gardens, parks, or ball fields. It works with any lawn tractor, zero-turn mower, or ATV that has a standard 3/4-inch hitch pin receiver.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, verify your towing vehicle has a 1-inch diameter hitch pin hole (most lawn tractors do). The roller measures 24 inches wide and 24 inches in diameter; ensure your mower deck or gate clearance allows for this width. It uses a universal hitch bracket, so no specific brand/model fitment—works with John Deere, Cub Cadet, Husqvarna, Craftsman, and similar. If you plan to push it manually, the included handle fits standard 1-inch tubing. Not compatible with zero-turn mowers that have a fixed rear hitch without a pin receiver.

Key Things to Know

  • Weight capacity: Fill with water (13 gallons ≈ 108 lbs) or sand (≈ 175 lbs). Do not exceed 200 lbs total; the frame may bend.
  • Assembly required: Takes about 20 minutes with basic tools (wrench and pliers). The drain plug is removable for easy emptying.
  • Rust risk: The steel drum is painted but not galvanized. Empty and dry after each use, especially if storing outdoors.
  • Hitch pin not included: You’ll need a 3/4-inch hitch pin and clip (sold separately) for most lawn tractors.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you need an affordable, lightweight roller for small-to-medium lawns (under 1 acre) and you already have a tow vehicle with a hitch receiver. It’s great for smoothing seedbeds or pressing sod, but skip it if you need a heavy-duty roller for large fields or rocky soil—the steel drum can dent under heavy loads or rough terrain.
