What It Is

This is a replacement Kevlar-cord reinforced drive belt (88.5" length) for select John Deere lawn tractors. It transfers power from the engine pulley to the mower deck blades, and is commonly used when your original belt is worn, stretched, or snapped.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm two things:

  1. Your mower deck size (this belt fits 42", 48", and 54" decks on listed models).
  2. Your exact model number – it fits John Deere 105, 107, 108, 115, 125, 135, 145, 155c, D110, D120, D130, D140, D150, D160, D170, L105, L107, L108, L110.

This is an aftermarket belt (OEM cross-reference: UC30568). It is not OEM John Deere, but matches the 88.5" length and Kevlar cord construction. Measure your old belt or check your owner’s manual – if your belt is shorter or longer, this won’t work.

Do not assume it fits all D-series or L-series models – only the ones listed above.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: Kevlar cord is more durable than standard rubber belts, but this is a budget aftermarket part – expect shorter lifespan than OEM (1-2 seasons vs 3-4).
  • Installation: Moderate difficulty – you’ll need to remove the mower deck, release belt tension (spring-loaded idler pulley), and route the belt around all pulleys. A diagram helps.
  • Gotcha: On 48" and 54" decks, the belt routing is slightly different – double-check your deck’s belt path before forcing it.
  • Price: At $10.95, it’s about half the cost of OEM. Fine for occasional use, but if you mow multiple acres weekly, spend more on a genuine John Deere belt.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you need a quick, cheap replacement for a small lawn (under 1 acre) and don’t want to spend $20+ on OEM. It’s a decent value for occasional use, but if you mow frequently or want maximum longevity, skip it and buy the genuine UC30568 belt.
