What It Is

This is a set of three high-lift replacement blades for 50-inch Cub Cadet zero-turn and lawn tractor mower decks. They are designed for aggressive grass bagging and side-discharge performance, using an S-shaped hole pattern to match specific Cub Cadet spindles.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Deck size: Only for 50-inch decks. Measure your deck width; 50-inch decks use three blades (typically 18.5 inches long each).
  • Hole pattern: S-shaped (oval with a notch) – this is critical. Standard star or round hole blades will not fit.
  • OEM cross-ref: Replaces Cub Cadet part numbers 742P05094, 742-05094, and 942-05094.
  • Compatible models: Grasscool ZT1 50, Ultima ZT2 50, Enduro XT1, XT2, LT50 series with 50-inch fabricated or stamped decks. Does NOT fit 46-inch or 54-inch decks.
  • Check spindle orientation: Some Cub Cadet models use a left-hand thread on one spindle. Confirm all three spindles have standard right-hand threads before buying.

Key Things to Know

  • High-lift design increases airflow for better bagging and discharge but will wear faster in sandy or dusty conditions.
  • Installation difficulty: Moderate. You’ll need a torque wrench (spec: 70–90 ft-lbs) and a blade removal tool or block of wood to lock the blade. No special adapters required.
  • Common gotcha: The S-shaped hole can be tricky to align on the spindle. Double-check the blade is fully seated flat before tightening – an off-center blade will cause vibration and poor cut.
  • Balance: These are not sold as a balanced set. If you’re picky about vibration, run a blade balancer after installation.

Should You Buy It

If you own a 50-inch Cub Cadet ZT1, Ultima ZT2, or Enduro XT series and need a cost-effective high-lift blade set for bagging or heavy grass, this is a solid choice. It’s not for sandy soil or low-lift mulching applications. Verify your deck size and hole pattern first, then buy confidently for improved cut quality over worn OEM blades.
