What It Is

A replacement gas spout and cap set designed for pre-2009 EPA-style gas cans and standard water jugs. It converts old, slow-pour or leaky spouts into a modern, vented system for fueling lawn mowers, trimmers, and other small engines.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Jug/Can Threads: Fits standard 2-inch (63mm) threaded openings found on most pre-2009 gas cans (e.g., Blitz, VP Racing, Scepter) and 1-gallon water jugs. Not for newer CARB/EPA cans with child-safety or auto-shutoff valves.
  • Check Your Can: Measure the inner diameter of your can’s opening—must be 2 inches. If it has a non-standard thread or a built-in spout, this won’t work.
  • OEM vs Aftermarket: This is an aftermarket upgrade, not OEM. It replaces the entire spout and cap assembly. No brand-specific fitment—works on any can with the correct thread size.
  • Material: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) spout, polypropylene cap. Compatible with gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and water.

Key Things to Know

  • No drilling required – Remove old spout, screw this one on. Takes 30 seconds. No tools.
  • Vented design – The cap includes a vent button (press to pour, release to stop). Reduces spills compared to old push-in vents.
  • White vs Black set – Same function, different color. White matches most water jugs; black looks more like a traditional gas can spout.
  • Not for newer cans – Will not seal on post-2009 CARB/EPA cans with safety latches, child-resistant caps, or auto-shutoff nozzles. Check your can’s manufacture date.

Should You Buy It

If you have a pre-2009 gas can with a broken, leaky, or slow spout, this is a cheap, no-hassle fix. It’s also perfect for converting a standard water jug into a secondary fuel container. Skip it if you own a newer CARB/EPA can—you’ll need a different replacement.
