What It Is

This is a universal replacement spout kit for standard 1–5 gallon gas cans, designed to replace broken, leaky, or missing fuel nozzles on lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and other small engines. It includes three coarse-thread caps and three fine-thread caps plus a flexible pouring nozzle with built-in sealing rings.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, measure the diameter of your gas can’s opening and identify the thread type. Coarse threads (typically 2″ diameter) fit older round-style gas cans; fine threads (2-1/4″ diameter) fit newer rectangular or CARB-compliant cans. This kit covers both, but not all cans—check that your can’s neck is round and between 2″ and 2-1/4″ across. It will not fit metal cans with non-standard threads, or cans with integrated pour spouts that are molded as one piece. No OEM-specific fitment—this is a universal aftermarket part.

Key Things to Know

  • Sealing ring design: The built-in rings are effective but can dry out or shift if overtightened. Hand-tighten only.
  • Flexible nozzle length: The 8-inch flexible hose reaches into most mower and trimmer tanks, but may be too short for deep tractor gas tanks.
  • No vent valve: Unlike newer CARB-compliant spouts, this kit has no auto-vent or flow control—you must manually vent the can or pour slowly.
  • Installation: No tools needed—simply unscrew your old cap, match the thread pitch, and screw on the new spout. Takes under 30 seconds.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you have a standard plastic gas can with a stripped or leaking cap and want a cheap, quick fix without replacing the whole can. Skip it if you need a CARB-compliant spout with a vent or if your can has a non-standard neck size or integrated spout.
