The Exmark 146-4960 Engine Maintenance Kit is a preassembled set of genuine OEM parts for performing an annual oil change and filter service on Exmark Lazer Z E-Series and Radius S-Series zero-turn mowers. It includes the correct 10W-30 oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and air filter for a complete routine service.
Fitment & Compatibility
Exact model match required. This kit is designed specifically for:
- Exmark Lazer Z E-Series (all deck sizes: 48", 52", 60", 72")
- Exmark Radius S-Series (all deck sizes: 48", 52", 60")
- Engine type: Kawasaki FX or Kohler Command/Confidant engines (check your engine brand before buying)
- Oil spec: 10W-30 (not 20W-50 or 5W-30)
What to check before buying:
- Engine manufacturer: Pull your engine cover and look for the brand (Kawasaki, Kohler, or Briggs & Stratton). This kit is NOT for Briggs engines.
- Oil capacity: The kit includes 2 quarts (64 oz). Some larger engines (e.g., Kawasaki FX850V) require 2.2 quarts—you’ll need to buy an extra half-quart.
- Filter compatibility: The included oil filter fits Kawasaki FX and Kohler Command/Confidant. If you have a Kohler Courage or a Yanmar, this filter won’t work.
- Deck size doesn’t matter for this kit—only engine type.
Key Things to Know
- OEM quality: This is genuine Exmark/Kawasaki parts, not aftermarket. Expect consistent fit and no warranty issues.
- Installation difficulty: Easy for a DIYer with basic tools (wrench for oil drain, pliers for fuel filter). Allow 30–45 minutes.
- Common gotcha: The fuel filter orientation matters—arrow must point toward the engine. Also, the air filter is a pre-filter only (foam); your mower may also need a paper air filter (sold separately).
- Not for hydraulic oil – this is strictly engine maintenance. Hydraulic system service requires a separate kit.
Should You Buy It
Buy it if you own an Exmark Lazer Z E-Series or Radius S-Series with a Kawasaki FX or Kohler Command/Confidant engine, want a one-stop shop for annual service, and prefer genuine OEM parts over aftermarket alternatives. It’s a fair value if you’d otherwise buy these four items separately, but skip it if you need a different oil weight or have a Briggs engine.
