The Exmark 116-5461 Hour Meter Kit is an OEM replacement hour meter that tracks engine run time for service intervals. It’s designed specifically for Exmark zero-turn mowers and commercial walk-behinds that use a standard 2-inch hole mount.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, verify your mower has a 2-inch diameter mounting hole (most Exmark models do). This kit fits Exmark Lazer Z, Lazer Z X-Series, Quest, Turf Tracer, and Metro models from the early 2000s onward. It does not fit non-Exmark brands directly—the mounting bezel and wiring harness are proprietary. Check your existing meter’s part number; if it ends in 116-5461, this is a direct swap. For older models (pre-2005), confirm the connector type—some use a different plug.
Key Things to Know
- Installation difficulty: Easy—disconnect battery, unplug old meter, remove retaining nut, install new one. Takes 10–15 minutes.
- Wiring: Comes with a pigtail harness. If your mower has a different connector, you may need to splice or use a universal adapter.
- Accuracy: Quartz movement is reliable, but the display is LCD (not backlit). Hard to read in low light.
- Reset: No reset button—hour meter is non-resettable, which is standard for OEM service tracking. If you need a resettable meter, look aftermarket.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you want a guaranteed OEM fit for your Exmark and don’t mind paying a premium for plug-and-play simplicity. It’s ideal for commercial operators who need accurate service tracking without splicing wires. Skip it if you’re on a budget—aftermarket universal hour meters work fine for half the price, though they may require adapter rings or wiring modifications.
