• Models: Fits John Deere D100-D160, L100-L130, LA105-LA165, X110-X140 (with 42" or 48" Edge/Accel Deep Deck). Not for older or non-Edge decks.
• Deck type: Only fits stamped steel decks, not fabricated or welded decks. Verify deck part number on the underside—common decks are M143519, M145199, M157354.
• OEM vs aftermarket: Works with OEM and most aftermarket spindles using a 5/16" bolt pattern. Measure spindle bolt center-to-center distance: must be 2-3/8" (stock JD spec).
• What’s included: Two steel rings, four bolts, and lock washers. No spindle or bearing assembly.

Key Things to Know

• Installation difficulty: Moderate. Requires removing the mower deck, pulling the spindle, and drilling out the original rivets or bolts. Expect 30-60 minutes per spindle.
• Quality: 3/16" plate steel is thicker than most OEM reinforcement plates (typically 1/8"). Reduces flex and cracking under heavy use.
• Common gotcha: Rings are designed for the top side of the deck only. Do not install on the bottom—they can contact the blade. Also, if your deck is already cracked, this will stop further damage but won’t fix the crack itself.
• Bolt torque: Use 35-40 ft-lbs on the spindle bolt. Over-tightening can distort the ring or strip the spindle threads.
