This is an aftermarket carburetor assembly designed to replace the OEM carburetor on Kawasaki FH series V-twin engines (FH430V, FH381V, FH541V). It’s intended for riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, and commercial lawn tractors powered by these engines.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, verify these three things:
- Engine model: Fits Kawasaki FH430V, FH381V, and FH541V only. Check the engine code stamped on the valve cover or blower housing—not the mower model number.
- OEM part numbers: Replaces Kawasaki 15003-7047, 15004-7057, and 15003-7107. If your original carburetor has a different OEM number (e.g., 15003-7048), it may not match.
- Physical dimensions: Measure the mounting bolt spacing (typically 60mm center-to-center) and the fuel inlet tube diameter (usually 5/16”). This unit has a fixed main jet—no adjustable mixture screws.
It does not fit FH601V, FH641V, or other Kawasaki V-twin models without the exact OEM cross-reference.
Key Things to Know
- Quality vs OEM: This is a budget aftermarket unit. Expect basic castings and plastic float parts. It may need minor deburring or gasket trimming to seal properly.
- Installation difficulty: Moderate. You’ll need to transfer the old choke linkage, throttle cable, and fuel line. No adjustments are possible—fuel mixture is preset.
- Common gotchas: The supplied gaskets are thin and sometimes leak. Use a thin layer of gasket sealant or reuse the OEM gasket. Also, the float height may be off from the factory—check it (should be 15-17mm) before installing.
- Performance: Usually runs fine once installed, but may require cleaning out debris from manufacturing. A small inline fuel filter is recommended.
Should You Buy It
This carburetor is a good value if you have a FH430V/FH381V/FH541V engine and need a quick, cost-effective replacement for a clogged or damaged carb. It’s not for professional landscapers needing OEM reliability or for engines with non-standard fuel systems. If you’re comfortable with basic engine work and can handle minor fitment tweaks, it’s a solid budget option. For critical commercial use, stick with an OEM Kawasaki carburetor.
