What It Is

The Aero-Flex® Premium Replacement Flexible Line Blades are .240-inch diameter trimmer line segments designed to replace standard nylon string on gas, electric, and battery-powered string trimmers. They’re intended for heavy-duty cutting of thick weeds, brambles, and light brush, not for standard grass trimming.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Line diameter: .240 inches (6.1 mm). This fits trimmers that accept .240 or larger line; check your trimmer’s manual for the maximum line size. Do not use in trimmers rated for .155 or .200 line—it may overload the engine or damage the head.
  • Head type: Works with bump-feed, fixed-line, and quick-load heads that accept loose line segments. Not compatible with pre-wound spools or heads with narrow exit slots.
  • Brand/model: Universal fit for most major brands (Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, Ryobi, etc.), but verify your trimmer’s line diameter and head design. If your trimmer uses .105 or .130 line, this is too thick.
  • Measurement check: Measure your current line diameter with calipers or match the number on the package to your trimmer’s spec. The pack includes 32 individual blades (pre-cut segments), not a continuous spool.

Key Things to Know

  • Cutting performance: The flexible blade design cuts through thicker vegetation than round string, but it’s louder and may throw debris farther. Wear eye protection.
  • Installation: Easy—just load individual segments into your trimmer head per the head’s instructions. No winding required. Takes about 2 minutes once you’ve done it once.
  • Durability: These last 2-3x longer than standard round string in heavy brush, but they wear faster against concrete or rocks. Avoid contact with hard surfaces.
  • Gotcha: The .240 diameter is thick—some trimmer heads may not have enough room for the segments to feed properly. Test one segment before loading the full pack. If it jams, switch to a smaller diameter.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you regularly clear heavy weeds, blackberries, or saplings and your trimmer supports .240 line. It’s overkill for weekly lawn edging or light grass—stick with standard .105 or .130 string for those jobs. The combo pack is a good value for occasional heavy-duty use, but for frequent commercial work, consider a bulk spool of .240 line instead.
