What It Is

This is a 1/2-inch wide by 108-inch long deck belt designed for the 46-inch cutting deck on Cub Cadet XT1 and XT2 series lawn tractors. It drives the mower blades from the engine pulley.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your mower has a 46-inch stamped steel deck (not a 42-inch or 50-inch). The OEM part numbers are 954-05022A and 754-05022A. This belt fits Cub Cadet XT1 (LT46, LT46F, LT46R) and XT2 (L46, L46F, L46R) models from about 2015 onward. It also replaces several other OEM numbers including 754-05022, 954-05022, and 954-05022B. Measure your old belt—it should be exactly 1/2-inch wide and 108 inches in outer circumference. If your belt is 1/2x107.5 or 1/2x109, this is still the correct replacement (small variations are normal). Do not use this belt on a fabricated (fabricated steel) deck or a 42-inch deck.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: This is an OEM Cub Cadet belt, not an aftermarket copy. It typically lasts 1-2 seasons under normal residential use.
  • Installation: Moderate difficulty. You’ll need to remove the deck (or at least the belt cover and mandrel covers). A belt routing diagram is usually printed on the deck top. Take a photo before removing the old belt.
  • Common gotcha: The belt can slip if the deck spindles are seized or the tensioner pulley is worn. Spin each blade by hand before installing the new belt—if any spindle is hard to turn, replace it first.
  • Tip: Always keep the belt routed correctly around each pulley and the tensioner arm. Incorrect routing causes rapid wear or belt flip.

Should You Buy It

Yes, if you own a Cub Cadet XT1 or XT2 with a 46-inch deck and want a direct, guaranteed fit without measuring aftermarket belts. It’s priced fairly for OEM quality and has strong user reviews. Skip it only if you’re on a tight budget and willing to gamble on a $10–$12 aftermarket belt that may be slightly undersized.
