What It Is

A set of three heavy-duty cutting attachments: two 9-inch, 36-tooth carbide-tipped weed eater blades and one 9-inch, 20-tooth brush cutter blade, plus a universal adapter kit. Designed for clearing thick brush, saplings, and heavy weeds on gas-powered trimmers and brush cutters compatible with Husqvarna and Stihl models.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, check these three things:

  • Shaft size: The universal adapter fits most standard 1-inch (25.4mm) and 26mm shafts, but confirm your trimmer’s output shaft diameter. Husqvarna 128LD, 129LK, and Stihl FS 90/91/94/111/131 are common fits, but verify your model.
  • Arbor hole: The blades use a 20mm center hole. Ensure your trimmer head accepts that size, or that the adapter kit includes the correct bushings for your machine.
  • Gearbox/head compatibility: Some trimmers with a curved shaft or fixed-head design may not accept these blades. Straight-shaft units are typical. If your trimmer has a “weed eater” head only (no metal blade capability), this kit will not work.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation requires a wrench and lock-up tool – You’ll need to remove the existing trimmer head and install the adapter plate, washer, and nut. Not a 5-minute swap.
  • Carbide tips are brittle – They stay sharp longer than steel but can chip on rocks or concrete. Avoid ground contact.
  • Universal adapter may need minor shimming – If the blade wobbles, use the included washers to center it. Test spin before full throttle.
  • Not for light grass or edging – Designed for thick brush, not regular lawn trimming. Using it on grass will overwork the engine and dull the teeth quickly.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you regularly clear heavy brush, briars, or small saplings (up to 1-inch thick) and already own a straight-shaft gas trimmer from Husqvarna or Stihl. It’s a cost-effective upgrade from string heads for serious clearing, but skip it if your work is mostly light weeds or you’re not comfortable swapping the trimmer head.
