What It Is

This is a 2-pack of high-lift lawn mower blades designed to replace the OEM Toro part 131-3939-03. They create strong upward airflow for superior grass clipping discharge and bagging performance on select Toro Time Cutter and Exmark Quest zero-turn mowers.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your mower has a 42-inch or 42.5-inch cutting deck and uses two blades (not three). This set fits:

  • Toro Time Cutter SS 4200, 4225, MX 4250
  • Exmark Quest (42-inch deck models)

Measure your existing blade: length should be roughly 20.5 inches (520 mm), center hole diameter 5/8 inch (16 mm), and the drive pin holes (two) spaced 3 inches apart. If your deck is 50 inches or larger, or uses three blades, this set won’t work. Always verify your OEM part number—if it’s 131-3939-03, these are a direct swap.

Key Things to Know

  • High-lift design improves bagging and side discharge but increases engine load and wear on belts—not ideal for mulching or dusty conditions.
  • Installation is straightforward if you have a socket wrench and a blade removal tool or block of wood to hold the blade. Torque to 70-90 ft-lbs; over-tightening can strip the spindle.
  • Check for balance out of the box. Lightly file the heavy side if needed to avoid vibration and spindle damage.
  • Sharpness is good out of the box, but expect to sharpen after 10-15 hours of heavy use. The steel is harder than OEM, so resharpening takes a bit more effort.

Should You Buy It

Buy this set if you own a compatible Toro Time Cutter or Exmark Quest with a 42-inch deck, prioritize strong bagging or discharge performance, and want a cost-effective alternative to OEM blades that holds up well. Skip it if you primarily mulch or need a low-lift blade for dusty, dry lawns.
