What It Is

This is a set of three high-lift (bagging) blades designed for 50-inch cutting decks on select Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, and MTD lawn tractors and zero-turn mowers. The high-lift design increases airflow to throw clippings into a bagger or side-discharge chute more effectively than standard or mulching blades.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, confirm your mower has a 50-inch deck (not 46 or 54). This blade fits models like the Cub Cadet XT1-LT50, Ultima ZT1-50, ZT2-50, and Troy-Bilt models with the same deck. It is an aftermarket replacement for OEM part 742P05094 (also listed as 742-05094). Check your current blade’s center hole diameter (should be 1-inch) and overall length (approximately 20.5 inches). If your deck uses a spindle with a 5-point star or oval hole, this blade will not fit. Always measure your existing blade or consult your owner’s manual for exact specs.

Key Things to Know

  • High-lift = more bagging power, less mulching. These blades excel with baggers but will leave longer clippings if you side-discharge without a bag. Not ideal for mulching.
  • Installation is straightforward but requires a socket wrench and a blade removal tool (or a block of wood to lock the blade). Torque the center bolt to 70–90 ft-lbs. Reverse threads on some models—check before tightening.
  • Quality vs. OEM: Aftermarket blades are often slightly thinner or less balanced than factory OEM. Check for wobble after installation; if vibration occurs, the blade may need balancing.
  • Sharpness out of box: These typically come sharp but may need a light touch-up with a file if you want a razor edge for fine grass.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you have a 50-inch Cub Cadet or Troy-Bilt and primarily bag clippings or need high airflow for wetter grass. It’s a good value for a three-pack versus buying OEM singles, but avoid it if you want a mulching or standard lift blade for a 46-inch or 54-inch deck.
