What It Is

This is a replacement deck lift linkage rod kit (two rods) for John Deere 100 Series tractors. It connects the deck lift handle to the mower deck, letting you raise and lower the cutting height. Designed for D100–D155 models.

Fitment & Compatibility

  • Exact models: D100, D105, D110, D120, D125, D130, D140, D150, D155 (all 100 Series lawn tractors).
  • Deck sizes: Fits 42-inch, 48-inch, and 54-inch Edge/Edge Xtra decks used on these models.
  • OEM cross-reference: Replaces John Deere part number GX24864. This is an aftermarket kit, not genuine JD.
  • What to measure: Before buying, confirm your original rods are about 12 inches long (center-to-center of the holes) and have the same 3/8-inch hole diameter. Also verify the rod ends are flat (not bent at an angle).
  • Check your model year: Fits roughly 2010–2020 models. If your tractor has a different lift linkage design (e.g., older 100 Series with a different pivot), it won’t work.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: Aftermarket steel rods, zinc-plated. Good for the price, but may have slightly looser hole tolerances than OEM. Grease the pins during installation.
  • Installation difficulty: Easy—remove two cotter pins, swap rods, re-pin. No tools beyond pliers and a punch. Takes 10–15 minutes.
  • Common gotcha: The rods are paired—one left, one right. They are not interchangeable. The shorter rod goes on the left side (operator’s left).
  • Durability: If your old rods bent from hitting an obstacle, these are the same gauge steel. Consider also checking the deck hanger brackets for damage.

Should You Buy It

If your D100–D155’s lift rods are bent, rusted, or the cotter pin holes are worn out, this kit is a cheap, direct fix. Not for other John Deere series (X300, etc.) or older 100 Series with different linkage. Good value for the price, but measure first to avoid a return.
