A 2-pack of 9-inch, 36-tooth carbide-tipped brush cutter blades designed for heavy grass, thick weeds, and light brush. These replace standard nylon trimmer heads on string trimmers and brush cutters, letting you clear woody vegetation without switching to a dedicated clearing saw.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, check three things:
- Arbor hole size: These use a 1-inch (25.4mm) center hole. Most Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo brush cutters accept this, but some older or compact trimmers use 20mm or 7/8-inch holes.
- Blade diameter: 9-inch blades fit most standard brush cutter guards. Measure your existing blade or guard opening—anything smaller than 9.5 inches is fine.
- Drive system: These are universal (no specific drive plate), but you’ll need a compatible blade nut or washer set. If your trimmer uses a dedicated blade adapter (e.g., Stihl PolyCut or SpeedFeed), you may need to remove it first.
Brand compatibility: Works with Stihl FS, FSX, KM; Husqvarna 128LD, 130BT, 525L; Echo SRM-225, PAS-225; and most straight-shaft trimmers with a 1-inch arbor. Not for curved-shaft or low-power electric trimmers.
Key Things to Know
- Carbide tips: Much harder than steel—stays sharp longer on abrasive dirt and dry brush. But if you hit rocks or concrete, tips can chip; they’re not field-sharpenable without a diamond wheel.
- Installation difficulty: Moderate. You’ll need a blade removal tool (or a wrench and a block of wood to lock the head). Torque to manufacturer spec—over-tightening can strip the arbor.
- Safety first: These throw debris farther than string. Always wear eye/leg protection and use the proper blade guard. Never use on a trimmer rated below 30cc (too much torque can snap the shaft).
- Balance: As a 2-pack, expect slight weight variation between blades. Check balance with a nail in a vise before mounting—unbalanced blades vibrate and wear bearings.
Should You Buy It
If you regularly clear tough weeds, saplings, or overgrown fence lines and own a mid-to-large straight-shaft brush cutter (30cc+), this is a solid budget pick. The carbide tips justify the price over steel blades, but skip it if you only trim grass or have a lightweight electric trimmer—stick with nylon line.
