This is a 2-pack of 11x4.00-5 smooth-tread tire and wheel assemblies, each pre-mounted on a rim with a tube. Designed for front-wheel drive or steering axle replacement on zero-turn mowers, walk-behinds, and small lawn tractors where a non-aggressive tread is acceptable.
Fitment & Compatibility
Before buying, confirm these three measurements:
- Tire size: Must be 11x4.00-5 (11" diameter, 4" width, 5" rim). Measure your existing tire sidewall—don’t guess.
- Hub type: Centered hub with a 4.3"–7.6" bolt pattern range. This is not a universal fit—measure your wheel bolt pattern center-to-center on opposite holes.
- Axle hole: Comes with a 3/4" bore and an extra 5/8" bushing. If your axle is 5/8" or 3/4", you’re good. Anything else (e.g., 1/2", 7/8") will require a different bushing or assembly.
This is an aftermarket part, not OEM. It fits many brands (e.g., Husqvarna, Craftsman, John Deere) but always cross-reference your model’s wheel specs. Smooth tread is fine for turf but poor on wet grass or slopes.
Key Things to Know
- Load capacity: 400 lbs per tire (800 lbs total). Adequate for most residential mowers, but check your mower’s weight with a full tank and operator.
- Installation: Low difficulty—remove old wheel, slide on new, tighten lug nuts. The tube is pre-installed; no inflation needed out of the box, but check pressure (typically 15–20 psi).
- Gotcha: The centered hub means the wheel is centered on the axle. If your mower uses an offset hub (common on some zero-turn drive wheels), this won’t work.
- Quality: 2-ply rating is entry-level. Expect shorter life on rough terrain or heavy use. The smooth tread can slip on wet grass or loose dirt.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you need a budget-friendly, direct replacement for a front or steering wheel on a residential mower, and you’ve verified the 5/8" or 3/4" axle and centered hub pattern. Skip it if you need an offset hub, higher ply rating, or aggressive tread for hills or wet conditions.
