What It Is

This 42-inch lawn mower blade is a universal replacement cutting blade designed for riding mowers with a 42-inch cutting deck, including Craftsman LT1000, LT2000, and YS4500 series, as well as select Husqvarna and Poulan Pro models. It’s a direct fit for decks that originally used OEM part numbers 422719, 424752, 777-134149, or 532-134149.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, verify these three things:

  1. Deck size: This blade is exactly 42 inches long (tip to tip). Measure your current blade’s length—if it’s not 42 inches, this won’t fit.
  2. Center hole and spindle pattern: The blade uses a standard 5-point star center hole (approx. 1-1/8” diameter) with a 5/8” diameter center hole. Confirm your spindle matches this pattern.
  3. Model and OEM cross-reference: This replaces Craftsman 532-134149, Husqvarna 532-134149, and Poulan 532-134149. It also crosses to 422719 and 424752. Check your owner’s manual or existing blade for these numbers.

Not compatible with 46-inch or 54-inch decks, or any zero-turn mowers unless explicitly listed. For Craftsman, it fits most LT (Lawn Tractor) series with a 42” deck from the early 2000s onward.

Key Things to Know

  • Quality: Aftermarket blade, not OEM. Typically made from 3/16” thick steel, medium-duty. Good for regular residential use but may dull faster than OEM or premium brands on rocky or tough terrain.
  • Installation: Easy if you have a socket wrench and a block of wood to jam the blade. Torque to 40-50 ft-lbs. Always lift the deck or remove the blade with the mower off and spark plug disconnected.
  • Common gotcha: The blade comes unsharpened from the factory—you’ll need to sharpen it before first use. Also, check the blade’s lift (bent up ends) matches your deck’s design; this is a standard lift blade, not a mulching or high-lift blade.
  • Balance: Aftermarket blades can be slightly out of balance. If you notice vibration after install, remove, balance, and reinstall.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you need a budget-friendly, direct replacement for a 42-inch Craftsman, Husqvarna, or Poulan Pro riding mower and you’re comfortable sharpening and balancing the blade yourself. It’s a solid value for light-to-moderate residential mowing, but if you have a heavy-duty or commercial mower, or want a factory-fresh edge out of the box, consider an OEM or premium brand instead.
