What It Is

This is a 10-inch, 4-tooth steel blade designed for gas or electric string trimmers and brush cutters to replace the factory cutting head. It’s meant for clearing thick grass, weeds, briars, and light brush—not for mowing lawns or heavy woody vegetation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, check three things:

  • Shaft size & mounting hole: Most trimmers accept a 1-inch (25.4mm) center hole and a 20mm arbor, but measure yours. This blade uses a standard 1-inch hole—if your trimmer has a different arbor (e.g., 7/8” or 26mm), it won’t fit.
  • Trimmer type: Works on straight-shaft trimmers with a brush cutter attachment. Curved-shaft trimmers usually lack the torque and guard clearance.
  • Guard & debris shield: Ensure your trimmer’s guard is rated for a metal blade (often marked “metal blade capable”). Using it without a proper guard is unsafe and voids warranties.
  • OEM vs aftermarket: This is a universal aftermarket blade. It will fit most brands (Echo, Stihl, Husqvarna, Ryobi, etc.) as long as hole size and shaft diameter match, but it’s not a direct OEM replacement for any specific model.

Key Things to Know

  • Installation difficulty: Moderate. You’ll need a wrench and a locking tool (or a pin) to hold the shaft. The blade must be mounted with the cutting direction arrow pointing forward—reverse mounting causes severe vibration.
  • Durability: Steel is strong but will dull quickly on rocky or sandy soil. It’s not carbide-tipped, so expect to sharpen or replace after a few hours of heavy brush.
  • Safety: This blade can kick back violently if it hits a rock, root, or fence post. Always wear chaps, eye protection, and steel-toe boots. Never use it without a full debris shield.
  • Noise & vibration: It’s louder and vibrates more than a string head. If your trimmer is under 30cc, it may struggle to spin this blade at effective speed.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you have a straight-shaft trimmer rated for metal blades, need a cheap occasional-use brush blade for clearing tough weeds and light saplings, and you’re comfortable with basic installation and extra safety precautions. Skip it if you need a heavy-duty forestry blade, want carbide longevity, or have a small or curved-shaft trimmer.
